Leslie Winick
Cofounder of CapitalW Collective
President, Board of Directors
Leslie began her mortgage-related career during the mid 90’s on J.P. Morgan’s fixed income trading floor – cue Carly Simon’s “Let the River Run” from the movie Working Girl. As the research analyst responsible for covering the GSE’s, Leslie actively tracked and commented on our dynamic mortgage space. She was also blessed to work with a remarkable leader and mentor who was among only a handful of powerful women on Wall Street. Leslie learned early-on that representation and diversity matter, and “if you can see it, you can be it”.
After a few years in NYC, Leslie returned to her west coast roots and began a career in management consulting that spanned nearly 25 years. Working in multiple industries and across the globe, Leslie was often the only woman in the board room. When possible, she emphasized the importance of diverse voices and elevated talented people who might not be on a company’s “rising star” map.
In 2019, Leslie was named Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) of Mortgage Capital Trading (MCT). Leveraging her strategic planning, customer intimacy, operational effectiveness, and change management expertise, she is responsible for charting MCT’s long-term strategic path, as well as overseeing critical initiatives in pursuit of company goals. Leslie is also on-point for forging relationships with influential and innovative industry participants.
Leslie and her wife live near the coast in San Francisco. She enjoys travel, the sense of satisfaction once a dirty yard project is complete, quality time with friends and family, and all-things wine.
